Kafka UI for DG

Kafka UI offers several advantages that can significantly enhance the management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of your Kafka environment.

Advantages :

Real-time Monitoring: Kafka UI provides real-time metrics and status of Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, and consumer groups. This makes it easy to track the health and performance of your Kafka cluster.
Visual Insights: With a graphical interface, it's easier to visualize data flow, topic sizes, partition distribution, and other critical aspects of your Kafka setup.
Log Access: Kafka UI often includes features for viewing logs, which can be crucial for debugging issues. You can easily identify and diagnose problems by inspecting broker logs, topic logs, and consumer logs.
Error Tracking: Quickly identify errors and exceptions occurring within the Kafka cluster, helping in faster resolution of issues
Accessibility: Kafka UI makes it accessible for non-technical users or team members who are not comfortable with CLI commands to interact with the Kafka cluster.
Resource Utilization: Monitor and optimize resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk) across Kafka brokers and topics, helping in efficient resource management and cost savings.

This Idea is Not Under Consideration.

While Kafka UI is very useful, we will leave it to the end user to procure and configure Kafka UI. It is not in the interest of anyone to bundle this as part of ZAPMC as it will cause additional overhead and risk to the package that is delivered by IBM
