Stop the duplication of job log data by Log Forwarder

With CDPz, each LPAR in a plex has its own instances of the product.

When a plex has multiple LPARs, the Log data is typically shared and available to all LPARs in the plex. This means every LPAR reads and transmits the log data, therefore, the subscriber is receiving multiple copies of the same Log data.

The first plex we are attempting to use Log data has 8 LPARs. We are using VSAM ESDS data sets. The subscriber (Splunk) is receiving 8 copies of the ingested VSAM ESDS Log data.

We suspect all log ingestion that is from a shared log resource will see the same duplication of data being sent to subscribers. Shared log data would include VSAM ESDS data sets, UNIX files, and Job logs from Spool.

The request is for CDPz to provide the capability to recognize that multiple LPARs, within the plex, have gathered data from a shared log and limit the sending of that data from just one LPAR.

The desired result of this requirement is to eliminate the duplication of data to the subscribers.

    We would like to emphasize two points :
    1. using a single policy in the plex is the preference
    2. failover is a requirement - need to ensure that one LPAR has sent the Log data
