z/OS Connect EE using z/OS Unicode service to do the code page conversion

Many customers in Taiwan, we are using z/OS Connect EE product for CP1371 code page conversion solution . However z/OS Connect EE is using JAVA SDK to do the code page conversion and it's not support CP1371 standard.Customer expect zCEE uses z/OS Unicode service to do the conversion job.Not to use JAVA SDK to convert it . If don't have this enhance function , zCEE will not be an option of API connection for Taiwan customer.

    This requirement is addressed by IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition: 8.0 Service Refresh 5 Fix Pack 7, APAR IJ02605:

    With this update CP1371 is now supported by Java which means that z/OS Connect EE now supports it in API mappings.

    If there is a further requirement for support of the z/OS Unicode Service from the Java runtime, please raise a requirement against the IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition here:

    The same service can be used in order to implement BIDI transformation based on https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSLTBW_2.3.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r3.cunu100/charconv.htm
