Data Conversion issue for array elements in input - z/OS Connect

As per the testing at DNB, CHAR type of data variables gets converted to LOW-VALUES when they are missing from payload but the same CHAR type of variables are converted to ‘SPACES' when they are used as part of array in input and missing from payload.

Because of this different behaviour from the z/OS Connect tool associated with same Mainframe data variables regardless of array or outside of array, we are facing issues with building API services as per DNB standard.

We tried testing after setting default LOW-VALUES for array elements though IBM has already confirmed that setting default values to arrays fields will not work. and this did not work as well.

Similar behaviour has also been observed for variables with PACKED DECIMAL. These variables are also converted to SPACES when they are part of array structure and not passed from JSON. It is expected that they are converted to LOW-VALUES.

    This requirement is addressed by z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition V3.0.12 / APAR PH01052:

    We have made significant updates to the handling of depends on clauses since V3.0.4 (the version in use when this RFE was raised) to resolve these issues.

Support for API response message using array with minimum occurrence as zero

The cobol response copybook uses multiple ARRAYs with minimum occurrence as zero. The response message works fine if there is data present for at least 1 occurrence but it fails (Internal server error) if there is no data from back-end application...
