Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

IVPs should be provided with the product

Like in Fault Analyzer, which is offered with transaction CFA that includes IVPs to check its functionality, zOS Connect should also include a provided functional set to enable basic tests - a ping service, the option to expose and publish it, the option to consume it, etc.

Whilst the solution available in the product today is slightly different to the approach suggested in this IDEA, z/OS Connect does provide this through using the /health endpoint for checking that the server is available and able to receive requests. For further details, refer to the documentation: Health checks for microservices :: Open Liberty Docs. As such this IDEA is being closed as “Functionality already exists”. If you have any further requirements in addition to the capability that exists today, we would welcome another IDEA.
