specify non keyboard printable characters in zOSCEE

IMS Enterprise Explorer for Development allows to specify non keyboard printable characters as escape sequences to be specified as JSON input, however its not possible to specify those escape sequences as constant values into the service interface.

This requirement is addressed in z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition V3.0 API Toolkit in the new service interface editor which allows the assignment of default values for fields in hexadecimal representation.

We need the binary value assignment (or escape sequence in other words) for the target IMS transaction in the inbound mapping to the copybook. And actually just as a default not coming from the HTTP request.

The specific details for this Request For Enhancement need clarification.

Is the requirement to allow escape sequences to be specified as values on ASSIGN mappings in the z/OS Connect EE API Editor, when creating a mapping onto an IMS transaction? If so, then it seems that the ASSIGN mapping also needs to be available in the mapping view of the API Editor for a HTTP header of the target IMS SERVICE ? or just to a copybook field of the target IMS service?
