Provide method to help automate the missing SMF rcds when SMF Extractor is down on a Lpar.

It is possible for SMF Extractor to be down and you can lose SMF data to be collected. The only way to collect those missing rcds for that Lpar is to run a COLLECT and estimate a time. It would be nice if SMF Extractor would give 2 timestamps, 1 on the normal/abnormal shutdown, 1 on the startup, that can be used in a COLLECT to collect that SMF and a procedure how.

As we continue to communicate interest/need, the issue with lacking diagnostic information for the SMF EXTRACTOR is very important to assess a problem situation and subsequent recovery for SMF EXTRACTOR and spoke/hub/server problem situations.

Given what is stated here, it is of significant concern that the SMF EXTRACTOR process does not externalize an audit-trail summary of each SMF data-forwarding event, regardless about any primary-concern raised here about missed SMF data.

A continuous SYSOUT/report audit-trail information stream is key to basic tracking of the IzPCA SMF EXTRACTOR processing, at the SMF DATA START/END date/time-period forwarded and also the SMF-ID of the system as well.
