GDPS Design Council and the z/OS Container Council to transform the GDPS Control LPARs to either a Secure Services Container

Many larger customers and even smaller customers have more GDPS control LPARs than they have actual z/OS application LPARs. (AmEx – 20 GDPS LPARs for Global Mirror). The amount of control LPARs then have be kept current with z/OS maintenance, security, and the lifecycle of a traditional LPAR even though its function is very limited. Includes • Reverse GM session configuration check prior to executing a region switch or at any time. .

    After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming release because it won?t be pursued within our planning cycle. Note that the future GSM support will reduce the number of GDPS k-sys and accomplish the same thing.
