Automatic increase virtual capacity for volume Safe Guarded Copy

When a SG backup volume runs out of Virtual Capacity, have the DS8K automatically increase the Virtual Capacity Multiplier with 1 for that volume. The increase by 1 should be sufficient I think, I do not think this should be configurable. However, the automatic increase should be configurable. Some clients may not find that desirable, or we might want automatic increase for our production systems only, but not for our test systems. Use case: Even after careful examination and adjustment of the multiplier, for a single volume it can on occasion be insufficient, causing a capture to fail. In our site a capture failed on a Couple Dataset Volume, a volume that can have a strong fluctuating high change rate. But the available VC can also turn out to be insufficient for any regular volume when application developers implement a new/changed feature. Business justification: Never have incomplete/invalid captures for reasons that can be avoided by automation. Also, it is better to have the multiplier increased automatically and investigate afterwards why it happened, than having a cyber vault with contents that are different then the business expects it to be (what it has been paying the IT department for).

The architecture design having the customer to decide the SGC multiplier MUST be changed by IBM.
I cannot see it makes sense that every installation have to handle that manually. Especially not when we are expected to have intact and restartable "backups"

Must have… You don't want to lose a capture. Beter to check afterwards why more capacity was needed than expected.

I created similar 'case' where I have many people voting for it.
There is a need to get this functionality automated.

Agree this would be helpful, dynamic virtual capacity with increased monitoring is what we want

Any, I mean any, enhancements to decrease a capture failure is very welcome.

I agree with this requirement - we should not have to second guess how big our SGC backup volumes will be and we should definitely not need to manually increase the multiplier for individual hot volumes. The solution should take this decision out of our hands.
