FCWITHDRAW FORCE option for unreachable devices

GDPS Metro does not allow doing a GEOPARM config which removes devices if they are related to an existing FC relationship. Normal procedure is to remove that relationship using DASD FCWITHDRAW prior to that config. This scripts deletes, both FC relationship in dasd, as well as FC flag in GDPS. However, If any change has to be done in GDPS configuration after dasd failure and these dasd held a FC relationship, DASD FCWITHDRAW succesfully deletes FC flags in GDPS, which seems enough in order to perform a new DASD config. But, if dasd cannot be reached by system, several error messages appear, which create confussion and, more important , make us unsure whether this FCWITHDRAW may change its behaviour in the future and not allow removing flags if FC cannot be deleted in dasd.

After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming release because it is not consistent with the product architecture and our strategy for future releases. If/when this recurs, a Case with the support structure should be opened to get assistance to resolve the issue.

This is a GDPS Metro Dual-leg solution, with an extra leg starting from RS3. I have attached a scheme of this configuration. An additional step going in an unplanned way from right to left, but it's almost symetrical to the shown one. GDPS manages everything , except the extra leg.

Going from one configuration to another one needs a GEOPARM for each configuration, 2 GEOPLEX DOMAINs configurations, and entering GDPS panels to reassign LOAD Address/PARMs, CDS, CFS,... but in 30 minutes we are able to have at least a MM copy.

There is no CSM in this configuration.

We would like to understand the GDPS topology (e.g., GDPS MM2SITE), is any other s/w controlling replications (e.g. CSM)?, and the usage scenario. thanks
