Standalone Dump support in GDPS AutoIPL

In order to allow prompt response in the scenario of a system failure, automating a standalone dump taking upon system failure is a key process for collecting essential diagnostic information and at the same time allow prompt recovery of system to resume service. Today z/OS AutoIPL function supports taking standalone dumps. However in a GDPS managed environment it is advisable that GDPS AutoIPL is being used instead of z/OS AutoIPL to avoid complication of GDPS and z/OS AutoIPL function both attempting IPL at the same time.

We would like to request standalone dump support is added to GDPS AutoIPL, so GDPS users can perform automated SA dump taking in a GDPS environment.

    We have a lot of non-GDPS managed LPARs, so this would cause an unhelpful complication to ops procedures

    We would like to use the possibility to get an Stand Alone Dump automatically when a system fails.

    We would like to see a stand alone dump be taken and then have the system reloaded when the dump is complete.

    This would be helpful with the automated recoveries.
