GDPS command to initiate LCP EXPORT function outside of panel VPCPLCPD

Idea@IBM: GDPS command for the initiation of LCP EXPORT function with DSN parameter and optional DISP & VOLSER parameter.

 

Current implementation only allows manual generation of EXPORT dataset via the VPCPLCPD panel.

 

Reason: To allow automation of LCP EXPORT data collection outside of the VPCPLCPD panel/LCP EXPORT option in GDPS.

Export CSVs can then be used for specific volser/pool capacity utilization reporting on an automated schedule.

    We are waiting for this functionality so we can generate automated reports so we can pro-active automate the analysis for example when certain types of volumes tend to have higher %used capacity where we would need to increase the capacity multiplier before we get into incomplete capture situations.

    With a command you can schedule it with SA, automatically create a report on a regular base.
