Would be very useful to Itau since we have a 2 large sysplex to deal.
For adding and especially removing devices we now have a multiple (conditional) step procedures which have to be executed manually (is higher risk).
Where you would rather want to update the GEOPARM, do a test activation (get info on what steps will be taken) and have GDPS perform the needed actions.
Will ease the management, definitely useful for us, too.
I have raised a similar idea not under consideration - ZGDPS-I-174 - resizing volumes as mentioned here moving from full to thin provisioned is a very cumbersome task. The DS8k offers dynamic volume expansion, I think that should be available from the GDPS side as well to manage the mirroring relationships during the dynamic volume expansion.
Converting a volume from full provisioned to thin provisioned in a 3-site MGM environment is very complex. Volume needs to be removed from and re-added to GDPS, which can be an extremely time consuming and prone to error procedure. This area needs major improvement.
