Change GA date of new GDPS releases

Is there a reason why GDPS doesn’t release new releases in September to coincide with the new release of z/OS ?

Would it be possible for GDPS to move to releasing software in the (same) September timeframe ?

I ask as (we), Citi, time our builds of a new z/OS rollout around the September release of z/OS.

This means that we start building our deliverable (that is then rolled to 180+ lpars and can take up to 2 years to complete) between October and the end of the following February.

GDPS being released at the end of March means our deliverable is always being shipped with a -1 release of GDPS.

When we build a new deliverable we attempt to ensure that all the software on it has a minimum life span of 2 years, with a March release the version we ship is already 12 months old.
