Extend System Recovery Boost for GDPS START SECONDARY and PPRC Failure Freeze

System Recovery Boost (SRB) is a powerful z/OS capability that accelerates system recovery by temporarily increasing processor capacity and reducing dispatching delays. Currently, SRB is automatically triggered for IPLs and certain planned or unplanned outages. However, critical GDPS automation events such as START SECONDARY and PPRC Failure Freeze are not currently integrated with SRB activation.

These events often occur during high-stress recovery scenarios where performance acceleration would significantly reduce recovery time and improve service availability. The lack of SRB support during these events can lead to slower recovery and increased risk of SLA breaches.

After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming release because it is not consistent with the product architecture and our strategy for future releases.
