Multiple CGs for CKD volumes for xDR Linux guests running on zVM LPARs

As of today IBM SYSPLEX and GDPS Architecture relies on 1 and only one CKD Consistency group. RB would like IBM to allow multiple consistency groups (at least 1 z/OS and 4 CKD Consistency Group for zLinux applications residing in z/VM environments in total) to cope with current RB configuration and operations.

After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming release because it won?t be pursued within our planning cycle.

We have a very similar situation with our zVM environment, and without this capability we have left zVM out of our GDPS config and have Copy Services Manager handling replication for zVM.

We believe that MultGCs is already in progress for z/OS at least, but am unsure of the release date.
