Maintain access to SGC recovery at original site after Global Mirror Region Switch

After a Region Switch, it is no longer possible to recover from the Safeguarded Copies at the previous site. This prevents us from being able to go back in time as we could if we remained in a single site and represents a huge gap in SGC functionality.

We require that there be a constant number of usable SGC copy sets at all times, regardless of Region Switching.

    This requirement is satisfied by GDPS Global - GM 4.5 which is generally available on March 31, 2022..

    I'm asked for more information, but I see no specific question I can answer. It seems to me that the request is clear: at all times, we should be able to create a recovery set from a Safeguarded Copy set that might have been taken prior to a Region Switch. Our use case is copies every 30 minutes that are kept for a week, in a GM2SITE environment.
