Enhance NV WINDOW command to return selected data back to caller

Hi NV development,

Please enhance NV WINDOW/CNME1505 to return user selected data on the screen

back to the caller either in a task global variable or other means.

We do not want to develop a VIEW panel for every Exec we write.

We would like to leverage NV’s WINDOW command as a generic panel for a simple user interface to minimize development and maintenance efforts and improve Time to Value.


Since WINDOW already supports VIEW attribute variables,

we think this enhancement will greatly enhance usability for WINDOW command.

Below is an example.

Invocation: WINDOW YourExec


Then tab cursor to line 2 and Enter. Window will indicate Line 2 is selected.

We would like WINDOW to return LINE 2 data back to the caller in a task global

or via other means.

Users can then leverage WINDOW screen as a generic simple user interface panel.
