IDz JMON Started Task session limit

There is a limit to the number of session connections the JMON Started Task will allow. Once this limit is reached, all further connection attempts are rejected with message:

FEJ205W Warning: Session limit exceeded

All work through IDz stops until the JMON Started Task is cycled to clear the counter.

This RFE is to allow this session limit to be set by the client to avoid the error AND to prevent tool usage interruptions. The ideal setting would allow 0 to mean unlimited.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. However, a functionality to enable such request is already present in our product. Our IBM Explorer for z/OS: Host Configuration Guide states that the "MAX_THREADS option sets the maximum number of users that can be using one JES Job Monitor at a time. The default is 200." So, increasing this number might require you to increase the size of the JES Job Monitor address space. This can be done in the configuration file 'FEJJCNFG' located in FEK.#CUST.PARMLIB, unless it was specified in a different location.

Another recommendation would be to specify REGION=0M in the started task PROC this would mean to use the max available (2G).

Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support.

A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
