Default file open action for Read only PDS/Elements

Issue/Case Details - Default file opening mode in IDz. Currently when a developer opens any file by double clicking (which is the standard way on UI side), file is opened in edit mode irrespective of developer's access (read only vs read-write). This is good for most of the files but if a developer is accessing any production files, unknowingly there is a lock on the file that causes an issue with another user or processing accessing the same file. Although this can happen in ISPF as well but a developer has to choose an action type when viewing files thru ISPF and mostly they use view or browse option when working with such files, hence very minimal risk.
Current Solutions in the tool - Developer can alter the default setup using preferences option and set the default option to view or browse only. This is good to have but if set, then all files are opened in view/browse mode only and developer when working in dev region for their day to day work, have to manually open the file in edit option.

Recommended Fix IDz to check access level of developer against the given file or PDS and default to view mode if access is read-only. If access is read-write, continue to have the default option as edit.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. However, we would recommend you change the default open action for MVS files to either 'View' or 'Browse' for writing...

Follow these steps to change the default setting for opening MVS Files:
Preference > Remote Systems > z/OS > MVS Files > Default action for opening MVS files:

Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support.
