z/OS Naming Standard customizability

Many clients have their own naming standards ... examples :

(1) During a Predefined Scan z/OSMF issues the following operator commands:

D T

D CN,EMCS,F,CN=xxxxx Where xxxx is the userid defined in zSSC for z/OSMF.

D OMVS,O

F CKCS1154,DISPLAY

If the task is not called CKCS1154 the result of the last command is: IEE341I CKCS1154 NOT ACTIVE <----- this forces clients to use CKCS1154 instead of their own in this case CNRxxxxx naming convention.

(2) During a Host-Define-Scan the client have the ability to select a DSN Prefix, but this is ONLY for CKACUST/V Datasets. CKCJSCAN is looking for a zSecure CKRJOBS library but in this case the zSecure software libraries are different to the xxx.xxx.CKRJOBS naming convention.

On advice from Hans Schoone (zSecure Lead Architect) an enhancement request is raised to improve the practical and reasonable distribution and operation op zSecure Scans in the context of zSCC.

    Giving started tasks a different name sounds like an additional "shoot yourself in the foot" capability. We could argue we are using the name space reserved for our product with the official 3 character product prefix CKC, and customers have no business tampering with that.

    The CKRJOBS problem we will look further into.
