We have tested support for group variables and believe that it is working as expected.

We are thinking that the issue is not the group variable, but possibly the structure of the program.
Would it be possible to get more information related to your sample?

We need to know the next things:
    - how the TRANX variable and its children get values
    - the structure of the source program: the paragraphs and the performs of the paragraphs
    - if there are branches affecting the values of the TRANX variable
