Currently AD has no facility to broadcast notification alert to user's community, instead we usually send information to application discovery users via email distributions. This idea is about introducing new feature to notify maintenance alerts whenever user consults 'application discovery browser' from the IDz workbench or analyze client. This feature is quite useful as there are couple of occasions where we need to inform users about internal maintenance activities.
Note that other vendor plugins integrated in IDz works well for 'broadcast notification', the same way would be good to have in AD as well. It will offload some of administrator's activities. For further explanations, do let us know. We can share some examples or method approach that we could think of now.
For eg:
1) When planned maintenance or upgrade is planned, then admins can add broadcast message in the CCS portal.
2) Next time when user consults analyze client, the broadcast message will be shown as popup alert. This approach is quite similar to the current CCS changes. Like if any configurations are modified, then user gets alerts saying "configuration are change with button -> OK got it", the same way broadcast message also be implemented.
or
1) If there is any possibility to extract user contact details from ACL or by some other way from DB, then it would also possible to send normal outlook email alert if it's technically doable from the product itself. By doing this way, we can be sure that all users who have installed/or using AD analyze clients are well notified promptly of planned maintenance and any disturbance/outages.
