Global transaction - avoidance of timeout/deadlock in a WAS trans. accessing a DB2 resource both directly and through CICS

A WAS transaction directly updates a DB2 resource and afterwards calls a CICS program (through CTG) that tries to access the same DB2 resource; this ends up in timeout or deadlock situations. As far as DB2 is concerned the two transactions are distinct units of recovery and so they will deadlock. You can even have this happen with just CICS regions. Originally the two DB2 acceses were done from the same CICS program (and worked).
The customer is asking for a mechanism to consider the whole transaction as global and DB2 seeing both accesses as the same

This requirement has been re-assessed. It is not likely that this will be implemented in the next 12-24 months and so it is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

Can you clarify if the call from the CTG to CICS goes via multiple CICS regions before accessing DB2 (i.e TOR and AOR) and if so how these regions are connected (MRO or IPIC), as this will determine if xid propagation over MRO is also a requirement for this solution.

The status of this RFE is that it is an uncommitted candidate, which means it is a candidate for inclusion in a future release. That is all we can say at this time.

Is there any plan for this request? My customer "needs" it. he thinks that the DB2 Lock sharing facilitate the way to solve it.
