CICS being a Top Tier Web Server; we would like to utilize CICS as the WEB Server to Deploy the CICS Explorer Product as the WebStart implementation. This will consolidate the support of CICS Explorer within the CICS Technical Support area; versioning and deployment.

We would like to have the CICS URI Map RDO bundled with CICS, for future upgrades. Presently we coded the RDO ourselves, with 4 URI maps; diffrent path suffixes and MetaType definitions; needing only to modify for ZFS location or other minor adjustments.

We would also like to have CICS validated as an appropriate and supported Web Server to deploy the current and future CICS Explorer Web Start implementations.

    This requirement has been re-evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    We are also very interested in JWS deployment for CICS Explorer. It would be important to us that we be able to Install necessary IBM plugins, Installation Plugins, and customize the exe layer with a link to an installation connection file, hosted on zFS. We would also like to see pieces of the JWS deployment model delivered as part of the CICS Product, including those nesessary for JWS packaging.
