Performance improvements for CICS Webservices Assistant

We use the CICS Webservices Assistant to generate wsdl and wsbind files for legacy mainframe applications. Some of these legacy applications use complex and large structures.
This results in complex and large wsdls.
Generation of a wsbind for such a complex wsdl fails on z/OS because of cpu and memory constraints.

We ask for serious performance improvements in the Webservices Assistant.

We have assessed this requirement. We have no current plans for this to be implemented and so this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.

Hello and thank you for raising this RFE. There have been a number of performance improvements to the web services assistant over time, however I appreciate more can be done, in particular when processing large WSDL files. In order for us to understand the nature of the WSDL (size, complexity, # operations, imports etc) and profile the performance of DFHWS2LS in terms of CPU, storage and elapsed time, can you supply the WSDL and its dependent files. You can attach them to the RFE as a .zip file or send it to mark_cocker@uk.ibm.com. Is the generated program interface (eg. COBOL copybooks) useable? Is the runtime performance of the web service acceptable?
    Regards, Mark.
