manage several CICSPlex at same time in CICS explorer

Assuming there are several CMCI port which belong to different CICSPlex. currently, CICS explorer can only connect to one CMCI port. User want to connect to several CMCI port at same time and manage the resources in different CICSPlex.

I'm not the original customer that submitted the request, but I would be very interested in being able to easily compare multiple different production environments, or production to the pre-prod test environment without having to take a screenshot of one then connect to the other.

    Hi Norman,

Would you be able to expand on what you mean by a "stage"?

Normally, we'd aim for isolation between environments like production, test and any sandpit environment for example. For those types of environment, I'd expect to see no communication links between CMAS, MAS or WUI into other environments.

If you are talking about having say 5 different sandpit environments, each with it's own CICSplex, then it might make sense to join them all together. The recommendation would be to always have a single maintenance point CMAS (that is a single CMAS who owns all of the CICSplex). It would be pretty normal to connect a single WUI region to that maintenance point CMAS to connect all CICSplex together in one place.

It really depends on your environment and your needs. Happy to discuss further if you want to contact me via email at chris.hodgins@uk.ibm.com.

    Thanks
    Chris

Are there plans to support more than one active CMCI connection? We want to separate the stages with one WUI per stage. Or is it common to use one WUI for all stages?

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - CICS Transaction Server

This requirement has been re-evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next two CICS TS releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected. You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.
