CICSVR generated JCL customization

CICSVR has several functions that generate JCL for on behalf of the user. Most if not all of the generated JCL requires additional customization in the form of dataset names (such as product libraries and RCDS) and other items. This approach is cumbersome and makes the product unpleasant to use. There should be a way during installation to specify customer-specific dataset names/qualifiers, job name(s), job statement structure, volser's (or no volser for SMS shops) and other various options to be used during JCL generation instead of asking the user to supply this information every time. Additionally, in the case of the RCDS datasets specifically, why not simply query SMS to determine the various parameters specified for the VR server (CICSVR_GRPNAME_SUFFIX, CICSVR_RCDS_PREFIX) to form the corredt RCDS dsnames?

    Hi Robert,
Option 5 from the ISPF dialog allows you to customise the JCL used for recovery jobs including RCDS names. Does this meet your needs or is there more needed ?
    Regards,
    John Tilling
