COMMAREA should be checked at compile time, avoiding the program to carry on with faulty COMMAREA that is greather than 32kb.

This incident concerning COBOL - CICS and use of COMMAREA.

There is a limit of 32 kb when transferring data using COMMAREA. If the user is unaware, tries to pass more than 32kb, Cobol compiler will not give an error for that. Developer should be aware about the limitation, but the compiler could refresh this information to the developer anyway.
Data transferred has an erratic value, leading to errors

    The actual safe limit for Commarea length is 24KB, see knowledge center.
    Maybe compile option DIAGTRUNC will help to generate warning.
