HLASM toolkit needs to support line-mode programs which use PUTGET and TGET macros

The HLASM Toolkit needs to support line-mode programs such as those which use the PUTGET and TGET macros/services. When such programs are tested using the Toolkit, the macros return invalid command buffer data. The Toolkit tests the programs as 3270 full screen applications even though they are not.

This RFE is one of a small group which had apparently been set aside incorrectly years ago and subsequently overlooked. We are sorry for the delay.

As far as we know, the only way to avoid this sort of problem while using the same terminal for the debugging would be for the ASMIDF interactive debug facility to intercept and emulate attempts to use TSO terminal and stack services, reissuing the request itself after adjusting the terminal status, to avoid any interaction on the TSO side between requests from ASMIDF and from the application. Emulating operating system services is however considered outside the scope of the current tool, so we cannot accept this request.

The alternative is to use a second terminal for debugging, using the VTAM LUNAME option in the TSO environment as for batch debugging. This may be somewhat tricky to set up but we think it would probably work.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Enterprise Tooling
Product - High Level Assembler (HLASM)

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Enterprise Tooling
Product - High Level Assembler (HLASM)
