Provide icon hoverover feature to reduce learning curve times.

It would be great if there was the ability to see more information about what each and every icon represents when a mouse hoverover is performed.

Being used to a greenscreen world all of my career, getting in and using RDz in Eclipse has been challenging. Where one would simply enter command line statements or select a value from a list of options, using the icon based method is a bit different. There are many more options available in RDz than via ISPF, as evidenced by the vast number of icons presented. To make matters worse, I happen to be color blind which makes it even more difficult to try and resolve an issue when someone says to select the "orange trapezoidal looking icon with the wavy lines in it". If I had the ability to do a hoverover of a icon, I could more easily determine what the icon is to be used for.

I can see where a seasoned RDz user may find the hoverover annoying, so it would be great if the hoverover option was a personal setting that could be turned on when learing RDZ and then turned off or disabled at a later time with the option of turning it on/off as desired for each RDz user.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us; However, your request for enhancement is not currently aligned with our product strategy and vision and we have no plans to address your request in the near future. Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support.

RDz does document the existing icons that it specifically contributes to the eclipse platform. You can find documentation for these icons at the following website: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/ratdevz/v9r0/nav/0_15_4

For information about base eclipse icons, please visit the eclipse.org website.
