Need for Simple ISPF like Search (3.14) for PDS

When trying the remote search option on a large PDS (13,000 members), our user experience is one where the RDz client never returns a response to the user. This is a ciritical feature for the work that our developers do in order to do their job within a product such as RDz. Your product just hangs and never returns a result. We were told by members of your team that that is the expected behavior when the PDS is large. That seems like poor design if you allow a search feature BUT NOT for certain sized partioned data sets and pretty much leave it to the user to figure if they are pushing the limits or not. Without a similar search that is allowed within ISPF (3.14), this particular product is useless to our developers for the project that we are targeting its usage.

This is a pain point for our company. This causes RDz lookups and high CPU usage on the host STCs. We instruct our developers to never request a full PDS search on large PDS's. We recommend refining the search with 3.14 before using the Remote z/OS Search in RDz. If the developer is not using Regular Expressions a Remote z/OS search should not par with a 3.14 search regarding both time and MIPS.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. Your request is currently inline with our product strategy and we have planned it for a future release of the product. Thank you for your suggestion and continued support.
