Add DUMMY and * support to DD Statements in zUnit

I recently spoke with Suman Gopinath and William Alexander about this.

We have many programs at my shop that use the DD SYSOUT=* or DD DUMMY functionality of JCL. We do this for assorted purposes, whether it is creating a report or just wanting to not use a file.

We are using the "Add an input or output file definition to a subprogram call" functionality due to the structures of our program, but there is currently no support for being able to define one of these DD numbers as DUMMY or *. Due to this, we are unable to unit test these programs, as they fail due to not finding the DD statements in the JCL that zUnit creates.

.Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us;We feel this is a valid requirement but delivery within the RFE 2 year window is not likely. Please resubmit in 12-18 months for reconsideration if still valid.
Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support

A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
