This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.
Welcome to the IBM Ideas Portal (https://www.ibm.com/ideas) - Use this site to find out additional information and details about the IBM Ideas process and statuses.
IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com) - Use this site to view all of your ideas, create new ideas for any IBM product, or search for ideas across all of IBM.
ideasibm@us.ibm.com - Use this email to suggest enhancements to the Ideas process or request help from IBM for submitting your Ideas.
As discussed with the submitter, current functionality satisfies the request.
@AndrewArentsen, I believe @walexand sent you a note regarding his suggestion, please let us know if you any further questions. If we don't hear back from you we will move forward with closing this RFE.
@walexand
But the hex option only shows one line. I thing the user want's all to switch to hex like in FileManagers Alt+H.
It would be nice if Alt+Shift+H gave one line like now but Alt+H could show all.
If I need to do HEX-editing I use FileManager or just plain good old ISPF edit.
Did you know that IDz 14.1.4 introduced a new JES Spool editor/viewer? You can read about it here: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/ibmz-and-linuxone/blogs/blog-entry1/2018/09/22/whats-new-in-ibm-developer-for-z-systems-v1414
Also in IDz 14.2.2 an outline view was associated with that new editor. You can read about it here: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/ibmz-and-linuxone/blogs/blog-entry1/2020/03/13/introducing-the-jes-spool-outline-view
When the JES Spool editor/viewer is open there is a button in the toolbar that looks like 0x with a shortcut key of Alt+Shift+H that can be used to Toggle Hex Editing.
If you are still seeing your job output open in LPEX or a default text editor, then you can go to Preferences > General > Editors > File Associations, select the *.spool file type and then Add the JES Spool Editor as an associated editor and set it as the default.
