IMS ORF to invoke IMS Index Builder independently to be able to rebuild the Indexes while the Main DB and indexes are active in the control regions.

In order to rebuild the Prim or Secondary indexes, the Main DB and indexes must be taken offline.


If the Index build utility can be invoked by ORF and perform the Index maintenance using the Shadow copy, the main database and indexes will remain accessible.

The goal is to execute an independent rebuild of a selected Secondary index or all indexes while the Main DB and partitions are online.

So, the ORF command will be - INDEXBUILD DBD(MainDataBase) -Indexname(xxxxxxxxx) or ALLSECONDARY
