Create/update DVSVC000 at IMS control region start

IMS should create the DFSVC000 member at a cold start.
or
IMS should override the IMS ID from the Sysgen process in the DFSVC000 member with the IMSID provided in the DFSPBxxx member at a cold start.

    Hi Daniel,

    Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

    When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

    At this time, after reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting RFE due to higher priority items preventing us from delivering RFEs within 18 months.You are welcome to resubmit this RFE at a later date and we will reconsider.

    We appreciate your input to IMS, and we hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of IMS.

    Hi Daniel,

    Sorry about the confusion there.

    The IMSID can be specified as an override in the DFSPBxxx proclib member or JCL override.
    Is this override a reasonable alternative to you?
    We assume that this is not a reasonable alternative which is why the RFE was opened, perhaps because it would require too many JCL changes in your environment.
    If that is the case, and the IMSID is the only issue, then we are looking into alternative ways that the IMSID can be specified, perhaps similar to the SVC specifications in DFSIDEF0 introduced in IMS Version 15.

    Is the current need to be able to specify the IMS ID override for dependent regions, batch and utility,
    where the JCL override is not a reasonable alternative?
