Today IMS can startup its CSL Stasks of SCI,OM,RM; extend to startup CQS(for RM) and ODBM

Today IMS via its DFSDFxxx member allows its CSL address spaces (SCI/OM/RM) to be started by the IMS Control region using: SCIPROC=,OMPROC=,RMPROC=.

However, our CSL setup for RM requires a 'non-shared Queues' CQS to be started, if the CQS is not started in 10min, the RM terminates itself... So we cannot use the above.

Can IBM add a CQSPROC= to the DFSDFxxx member to allow IMS to start it?

We'd also like to see ODBMPROC= support added to DFSDFxxx too, to start ODBM.

It's curious that when we issue a "F xxxxSCI,SHUTDOWN CSLLCL" command, all 5 CSL STASKs for that IMS region are brought down---ODBM,RM,CQS,OM and SCI.

    .Hi,

    Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

    When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

    After evaluating this idea, our team has determined that we are comfortable accepting part of this idea. We are willing to accept the requirement for a new RM parameter to have RM start CQS if it is not active. However, we will be rejecting the requirement for IMS to start ODBM since IMS doesn't attempt to register with ODBM (and thus has no feedback about whether it is active or needs to be started) and because ODBM topology is more complex than the other CSL address spaces.

    We reserve the right to re-prioritize our backlog items as new requests come in. This helps ensure that we are constantly focused on providing the best value to all of our clients.
