Region Awareness

We would like to propose an enhancement to the IntelliMagic product to incorporate region awareness into its replication path analysis and reporting capabilities.

Our MGM 4-SITE environment includes PPRC paths that alternate between synchronous and asynchronous replication modes depending on which region our Production application systems are currently running in, and with MGM 6-SITE being a new topology (one we expect to implement) we expect reporting to become unmanageable. Currently, IntelliMagic does not distinguish between these operational modes, which results in:

• False positives in automated health and performance reports
• Misleading visualizations in the web-based dashboards
• Reduced confidence in replication monitoring and alerting

By enabling region-aware logic—where the product can recognize and adapt to the dynamic nature of replication configurations—IntelliMagic would significantly improve its accuracy and value in multi-region replication environments. This enhancement would allow for more precise reporting, reduce noise in alerting, and better support operational decision-making.

We believe this capability would benefit many enterprise customers with similar dynamic replication strategies and would align well with IntelliMagic’s mission of delivering intelligent, context-aware infrastructure analytics.
