This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Well, for one thing it would make recycling Zowe run a lot faster. on our systems that takes over ten minutes. :-0
Python got a 70% zIIP redirect and that's a scripting language with generally no more compute-intensive applications than Node.js has, but somehow it was justified by IBM. I think because the Ansible folks wanted it to run as fast as it does on a PC. We have client-initiated web transactions on our public sever that wait for Node.js transactions on z/OS to complete and that's a similar situation. We have Node.js programs monitoring directories, copying data from one platform to another, and doing a multitude of things. Some of that runs under Linux for Z (on an IFL), some of it runs on x86, and some of it runs on z/OS (ordinary CPs). We observe substantial differences in performance comparing Node.js running on z/OS to the other platforms. Our IBM Z is an 8652-B03.
Edward, thanks for the input. Could you share potential use cases for zIIP offload? Since Node.js is mainly for I/O intensive workloads, we need to evaluate potential zIIP usage for further consideration.
