Create SYSplex level view in OMEGAMON For Storage

All of the default workspaces provided by OMEGAMON For Storage appear at the LPAR level in the navigator, but several of the objects monitored by OMEGAMON For Storage are common to all LPARs in a SYSplex. OMEGAMON For Storage should provide SYSplex level workspaces to display common objects like shared tape libraries and storage pools without the excessive redundancy of including duplicate workspaces in each LPAR view.

    Hi, why are there no additional comments regarding the status change to "Need More Information"? What about the original submission is not clear? Currently in the physical view you have to navigate to an LPAR in order to see relevant details. Much of the information gathered and maintained by OMEGAMON For Storage is common to the SYSplex, the placement of the navigator items and configuration of associated queries and links should reflect this in the physical view. Storage pools, Tape Libraries, Dataset Metrics, Etc. This would simplify the product and better align the information we provide with the expectation of the storage administrator.

    Hi, The current structure of the OMEGAMON For Storage Workspaces are a tree which expands from SYSPLEX to LPAR, with all Storage workspaces being located under the LPAR. OMEGAMON For Storage should place SYSPLEX centric workspaces under the SYSPLEX in the tree similar to OMEGAMON For z/OS. Objects like shared storage pools, tape libraries, RLS monitoring, Etc. are common across the sysplex and should be mirrored in our physical view appropriately.
