This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hello,
Can you confirm our understanding given below?
With regards,
Madhu
Sorry for the delay in responding.
Let me reiterate the question:
The requirement is to provide a command line option such as -
"C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Personal Communications\pcsws.exe"
On CA PAM Client, define a service with 127.0.0.200 as the local loopback address, and register Client Application as -
"C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Personal Communications\pcsws.exe"
Then, save a PCOMM session (.WS file) with host IP address as 127.0.0.200 with port 23.
This should cause PCOMM session to connect to CA PAM Client on loopback address, and from there it will invoke the PCOMM session with the actual host with credentials.
Is this understanding correct?
To summarise, PCSWS.EXE should be enhanced to accept connecting host name (or IP address) and port as command line parameters.
Please clarify.
Thank you for providing the information that we requested to clarify this enhancement request.
Further evaluation is underway.
1. We are using the CA PAM (Privileged Access Management) client. The CA PAM client creates a separate local loopback on the client for each service, then proxies through the PAM servers to the destination server. The idea is to create a chokepoint for privileged traffic.
2. The change manual proxy setting doesn't apply - refer to step 1.
3. We were trying to set the PAM client up so that it pointed to the saved session, but the saved session points the client directly to the server instead of routing through PAM. So then we tried pointing it to the local loopback but that caused other issues.
Comments from development
Need more info:
"1. Is the requirement for cli option is to authenticate proxy and then connet to host, by giving proxy server ip, username & password via cli?
2. If the proxy is set in windows, using ""change manual proxy settings"" in win10, doesn't PCOMM get through proxy server?
3. Need more information about the customer setup and how they use saved session?"
