When pasting from and Excel Spreadsheet into a TN3270 screen Personal Communications skips the TAB for columns with no data which causes the pasted data to end up in the wrong fields on the 3270 screen. In our case it was a CICS screen.
PMR 75414,L6Q,000 was opened for this issue, they recommended opening a RFE. This capability is available in PCOMM for 5250.
Below is a description of the issue from the PMR:
This problem occurs only when no data/character is present in one of
the columns in the middle of the row. Copy the data from the Excel
sheet and paste it on Notepad++, we can notice there will be 2
consecutive TABs. As I noticed while performing paste operation, PCOMM
will not process both the TABs and paste clipboard data into 'next to
next' entry field (column).
The IBM support team and developers were able to recreate this issue.
