EGL Data Wizard provide functionality for returning auto-generated column values on the AddXXXX functions.

I would like to see the EGL Data Wizard provide functionality for returning auto-generated column values on the AddXXXX functions.

Presently, the wizard only allows you to mark a column as Read Only to prevent the generated code from trying to maintain these columns during a record Insert. While this prevents database errors, the generated code does not retrieve the system-generated values.

After each record insert, the generated values should be retrieved and returned to user in the record array that was passed to the AddXXX function.

We have evaluated this request and determined that it cannot be implemented at this time because it is not strategic currently.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
    Product - Business Developer

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
    Product - Business Developer

This RFE's Headline was changed after submission to reflect the headline of an internal request we were already considering, but will now track here.

Thank you for this input. We are implementing this type of function in the EGL open source project at eclipse.org/edt. You might want to give it a try and give us feedback.

Since we are doing it in EDT, this feature is likely to be implemented in RBD sometime in the future, although we do not currently have a time frame.
