Define variable for CLOB data type in EGL program

This is to resolve an issue we raised in Case number TS010545379. We have been asked to raise a RFE to provide a new feature to bring resolution to the issue. The feature is to define variable for CLOB data type in EGL program.

From the case according to the EGL development team:

We have analyzed the CLOB/BLOB data types in RBD COBOL Generation and found the below observations:
1. As of now RBD supports CLOB/BLOB datatypes only in EGL Record type SQLRECORD only. Here is the example:

record MyRec type sqlRecord{tableNames =[["LARGEOBJ"]],fieldsMatchColumns = yes}
ID int {column="ID", isSqlNullable=yes};
DATA1 clob {column="DATA1", isSqlNullable=yes};
CLOBDATA1 CHAR(2147) {column="DATA1", isSqlNullable=yes};
end
By using above record structure we can retrieve and insert records in DB2 table with CLOB as a column.

2. But we cannot define any variable with data type as CLOB out side of EGL Record type "SQLRECORD".

Kind Regards

    A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
