An option to create empty SAMDS output files (RBD 9.11 / Generation for VSE)

EGL doesn't provide a method to create empty output files, whereas in native Cobol, output file is created within the open statement. In a mixed environment (EGL, native Cobol, CA Easytrieve) we have, this shortage in EGL causes extra logic to be added in JCLs.

An open statement to create a file or a new generation option to force all output files to be created is what we suggest.

It would really help us a lot if we could handle all batch programs with a single way in JCLs.
