This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Given how RPP 9.5.1.7 generates Cobol code with many paragraph names, the Program Control Flow view is completely unusable. We would like a usable Program Control Flow for RPP integrated with RDZ/IDZ Debug. I spoke with Bill Alexander at the IDZ user group conference last week about this and he indicated he would be willing to share the Program Control Flow code with the RPP team as a starting point and advised he can be contacted for this.
One thought we have is, instead of the diagram nodes being paragraph names, the nodes would be structured and expandable/collapsible by level numbers, similar to the Generated Code Structure view. When the Program Control Flow view is opened, the nodes and paragraph names shown would be only the 05 levels. Double-clicking on an 05 level node would show and expand out the 10 levels underneath the 05 level (Or 07 level, whatever the next higher level number is). The user could double click the 10's again, and the 15's would be shown, etc.
Right-clicking on a node would bring up a context menu where the user could collapse/hide all of the higher level nodes subordinate to the node clicked on.
During debugging, the nodes would become visible as the developer steps through the code, as the existing PCF does.
Additionally, in RPP 9.5.1.7, when the cobol source is opened with the Cobol PDP editor (which is the default for RPP pgms), the Program Control View does not work. The user must open the source in the normal CBL editor to get the PCF diagram. The diagram should be able to be opened via the PDP editor.

We have evaluated this request and determined that it cannot be implemented at this time. This evolution should be done by IDz to minimize display of specific informations in COBOL generated files.
Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.
A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
