Report extract to FB/FBA/FBM RECFM datasets instead of VB*

Our customer that are looking to convert to ITOM from other vendor products, have downstream MAINFRAME and NON-MAINFRAME application processes that are report data set content positionally sensitive. Currently ITOM captures output into VB* RECFM variable length records to store within ITOM. Users download/extracting the data are not use to VB data set and would have to convert many processes to use VB, versus current tools create FB  RECFM today. Since ITOM us using DYNAMIC  allocation Z/OS services, allowing a configuration option to change the RECFM parm to support all Fixed block RECFM, increases usability and saves customer expense to change application and report scrapping processes to VB.

    This Idea is not under consideration at this time. The ITOM core architecture is to store the data set in VBA format. The customer can use BJTBATCH to restore the report to a data set in VBA format and then use the utilities to store it to FB format. Thank you again for the Idea.
