enhancement to ZOSConnect APi call monitor

It is very difficult to troubleshoot API issues in ZOS Connect. You can set the trace level high and see some information in trace.log but trace.log is not easily readable. It would be great to see something user friendly on monitoring API calls and their payloads. For example API Connect or any ESB tool out there provides the ability to see what came in and went out o the system in user friendly manner. We are not asking for API managment feature. we are asking for some user friendly way to monitor calls in ZOS Connect. We love the speedy development in ZOS Connect but monitoring using log files is very raw for such an wonderful product.

Since this RFE was raised we have delivered a number of enhancements to the way that z/OS Connect EE can be monitored via SMF123 records and our recently enhanced interceptor framework (which allows real time monitoring of API requests as they happen).

We now have a number of Monitoring solutions for various use cases. For Example:
    - Real time monitoring of each API request, with Omegamon for JVM
    - End to End API request tracking from device to SoR, with Z APM Connect and App Dynamics
    - Operational Analytics to spot trends in API workload, with IBM Common Data Provider and Splunk

More information about these monitoring scenarios can be found here:
    https://developer.ibm.com/mainframe/docs/managing-api-workloads/

We apologise for not responding to this RFE sooner, but rest assured that this RFE contributed to the weight of requirements in the monitoring area in general which has driven the delivery of the solutions above this year. We used Design Thinking and worked with many sponsor users to understand the specific use cases and needs behind these RFEs, to ensure we delivered the best solution to the underlying problems.

Whilst these solutions were not exactly what was requested in this RFE, we hope that what has been delivered has addressed your underlying need in the monitoring space. As such this RFE is being closed a delivered at this time. If you have any further requirements please feel free to raise them in a new RFE.
