Updates of Liberty Profile server.xml file, and z/OS Connect zosConnectDataXform files are either:
- automatic with a polling interval -- CPU intensive, risky, can't pre-stage changes
- disabled -- needs a restart to update, takes an outage
- mbean driven, but needs coding from the client. Any client side code is unsupported by IBM, and no compatibility is guaranteed for any future updates.

IBM should provide a complete, end-to-end, supported solution for dynamic on-demand updates of Liberty configuration and z/OS Connect transformation files.

It should be implemented as a command-line interface, similar to wsadmin, so it can be executed by automation scripts. And/or with a MVS "MODIFY" command.

Also It could be implemented from the Admin Center, for on-line on-demand GUI interface.

    This requirement is addressed by z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition V3.0.

    This enhancement is delivered through the use of deployable SAR and AAR files, created by the z/OS Connect EE API Toolkit, the use of dropins support for both APIs and services, in combination with the new MODIFY command option “ZCON,REFRESH” for z/OS Connect EE V3.0 servers.
