We are in the middle of exploiting LCP.

Every evening we perform an automatic IPL of the CVE (Cybervault Verification Environment) from the flashcopy devices to see if the data is readable and there are no issues.

Before we start we want to check whether the selected IPL-set for the CVE, on the G-Sys, is the same as that of the production system on the K-Sys of our MM setup.

If these do not match we would be IPLing from the wrong IPL-set which contains old data.

The VPCEQURY command on the K-Sys supports the parameter SYSTEMS which shows all the defined production systems and what the selected IPLType/IPLMode is for those systems.

If the GM version of GDPS would also support this parameter we could compare the IPLSet for the production system and the CVE before performing the automatic IPL.

    It is tough to make all systems get in sync with correct IPL and IPLPARM information between MGM and LCP. We don’t have plans for Cyber Vault at this time, but there would need to be some way of identify what the IPL volumes were at the time of the copy and IPLPARM information.
